The move
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sidenote:
All those blogs we read, Youtube movies we saw, were couples without children.
As predicted by some good friends, keeping the blog up to date will be hard. So
I hereby apologize for the delay and promise to do my best to keep you updated
at a more normal (two-weekly) rate J Let me explain why we only
re-emerge today (29/07) and make some time to write an update.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The final two weeks were exhausting, mentally and physically. Every night we were holding a paint brush in one hand (still finishing the house) and the other hand was glued to the keyboard as lots and lots of last minute documents were asked to be filled in and sent out the same day.
The final two weeks were also packed with last-minute saying goodbye parties, anniversaries and kinder garden graduations. A welcome break from the hard work ;-)
Our new tenants moved in our house the 30th of June and we were still packing up that morning. Some friends of us had a funny anecdote of another sailing couple forgetting to clear out a whole cupboard, but they were quite confident that we were better prepared… hmmm I confess that in the last minutes before the tenants arrived, I just took some garbage bags to throw everything rapidly in the car and clean out the cupboard… Just when we left for La Rochelle, the tenants called us to say that Geoffrey forgot two drawers of underwear and socks ;-) I guess our first big mistake was to keep working until the very last day. We ended our jobs the 29th of June and headed for La Rochelle the 1st of July…
(Anna and Louise flew in by plane one week later ;-))
